As well as the club’s provision of the equipment, policies and procedures to ensure the safety of its members, there is also a requirement for each member to comply with certain regulations and standards. These include:

- Maintaining an up to date membership with SOCCI
- Completing an annual Huli drill
- Completing an annual 400-metre open water swim test
All of the above to ensure both insurance and legal requirements are met, and a basic level of paddling safety and awareness is maintained.
